Great Rift Valley
Lake Naivasha
Situated in the Great Rift Valley, Naivasha offers volcanoes to climb, wildlife to visit and some of the best MTB and rock climbing in Kenya.
Accommodation
We host you at either Carnellys Camp — a beautiful 3* lodge on the banks of the lake where hippos graze in the evenings and Kenya's best pizza awaits at the Lazy Bones restaurant — or we camp at Sanctuary Farm, a unique wildlife conservancy home to some of the most habituated wild animals in all of Kenya.
Activities
Hell's Gate: mountain bike through herds of zebra to world-class rock climbing spots — from beginner single-pitch at Fischer's Tower to unique multi-pitch crag climbing. A boat safari on Lake Naivasha to spot hippos, colobus monkeys and stunning fish eagles. Nature walks at Sanctuary Farm to get within arm's reach of zebra, impala and giraffe. Horse riding safaris also available.

Rift Valley — UNESCO World Heritage Site
Soysambu Conservancy
Soysambu is steeped in history as the home of the famous Lord Delamere. Converted from a cattle ranch to a game conservancy, it's an incredible safari destination and a chance to find lion, hyenas and the endangered Rothschild giraffe. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site — one of the only breeding locations in the world for pelicans, with bright pink banks covered in flamingos.
Accommodation
Soysambu has some of the most stunning campsites in Kenya, overlooking Lake Elmenteita with giant acacia forest. For something smarter, the 5* Elmenteita Serena Camp is an exceptional option.
Activities
Our main activity is a camel safari — meet your camels, load your equipment onto their backs and join the caravan for a walking safari like no other, passing through herds of animals and camping far from roads and people. We always finish with a 5* slap-up lunch around the pool at Serena Hotel. Soysambu is also home to world raptor expert Simon Thomsett — we can arrange a talk on his remarkable conservation work protecting birds of prey across Kenya.

The Maasai Mara
When people picture Kenya, they often think about rolling savannah, lions hunting zebras, and Maasai warriors herding cattle. Welcome to the Maasai Mara — home to the best game viewing in the world. You are almost guaranteed to see all of the Big 5.
Accommodation
From the famous Cottar's 1920s 5* lodge to wild camping under thorn trees, we can accommodate any budget in the Mara.
Activities
As adventure experts we've created a gravel bike safari — cycle from lodge to lodge or camp to camp through an abundance of animals. E-bikes and a support vehicle are always available. A classic safari in a Landcruiser is also a must, and if you visit during the migration you'll witness wildebeest crossing crocodile-infested rivers.

Kakamega Rainforest
The only virgin rainforest left in Kenya, the Kakamega Rainforest is part of the once great jungle that stretched from east to west Africa. It is filled with unique species of monkeys and birds endemic to the forest.
Accommodation
A combination of Rondo Retreat — a beautiful 4* wooden lodge — and wild camping along the banks of the Yala River.
Activities
A multi-day rafting trip along the Yala River, meandering through the forest with ancient trees overhead and incredible Class 4 jungle rapids such as Blind Faith and the Jungle Book. You'll also have time for a guided nature walk through the forest, learning how local plants and vegetation are used by communities.

Northern Kenya
Laikipia
The last frontier before the northern deserts of Kenya. Home to giant conservancies all working to protect and save critically endangered animals such as the last northern white rhino.
Accommodation
Camping at Rift Valley Adventures is a perfect base for thrill-seekers. Our personal favourite is The Safari Series — a unique 4* camp where you drive a Series 1 Land Rover around the African bush in search of elephants. If old cars and adventure are your thing, this will be a definite highlight.
Activities
Canyoning with Rift Valley Adventures. Samburu cultural visits — learn to track wildlife and make fire like the warriors of old. Drive through a stunning conservancy in a classic Series 1 Land Rover. Wild camping next to dams filled with bathing elephants.

Mount Kenya
Mount Kenya is a unique collection of afro-alpine fauna and stunning views. Reaching an altitude of 5,199 m, it is the second-highest mountain in Africa and one of only three places on the continent where you can find snow and glaciers. We offer 5-day trips up Mount Kenya with all equipment provided, incredible meals and beautiful hikes. We take you off the beaten path to stunning locations that most climbers never see — even without reaching the summit, the real adventure is being up in this vast and rugged landscape.
